What You’ll Need

  • Prairie Fresh® Signature Pork Shoulder with Carnitas Seasoning
  • Juice of one orange (about ¼ cup)
  • Juice of 2 limes (about ¼ cup)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 jalapeno, diced
  • White rice

 

Suggested Toppings:

  • Limes
  • Cilantro
  • Pico de Gallo
  • Corn
  • Black beans
  • Lettuce
  • Chihuahua cheese or cotija cheese
  • Sour cream or crema
  • Guacamole

Directions

  1. Add pork shoulder roast to slow cooker. Then add sliced onion and jalapeno, followed by orange and lime juice.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 5-6 hours.
  3. Shred pork in slow cooker.
  4. OPTIONAL: For crispy edges on pork, line a baking sheet with foil and spread cooked shredded pork across sheet.
  5. Bake at 425 F for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Serve pork with rice and your choice of toppings. Enjoy!
